CATIA (Catalyzing Access to ICTs in Africa) is a project funded by Canada's International Development Research Centre, UK's Department for International Development, and supported by the GVF and a host others. It provides a snapshot of key parameters that impact upon the ability of Africa's ICT community to obtain cost-effective satellite communications. These critical parameters include market-access conditions, the extent to which competition is permitted, resource availability, and contact details for the government officials responsible for satellite regulations. GVF is committed to continue making this resource available to all stakeholders in Africa.
