Jim Corry

Vice President, Government Solutions
Mobile Satellite Ventures

In his capacity as Vice President, Government Solutions, Mr. Corry leads MSV’s federal, state and local government sales and marketing initiatives and is critically involved in the transition of the company’s current generation sales and services for government departments and agencies throughout North America to MSV’s next generation terrestrial-satellite system.

Mr. Corry is a 22-year veteran of the United States Secret Service, where from 1976 to 1998, he held various positions of increasing responsibility including leading teams of over 100 people and protection of senior U.S. leaders including the President and Vice President. In 2007, Mr. Corry was appointed to serve on the Joint Advisory Committee on Communications Capabilities of Emergency Medical and Public Health Care Facilities. Established by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the committee assessed the capabilities and communications needs of medical and public health care facilities across the nation and submitted its report to the U.S. Congress.

Prior to joining MSV in 2006, Mr. Corry served as director of Government Solutions for Nextel Communications, which became Sprint Nextel, where he led and managed a nationwide business development effort and national account focused on intelligence, law enforcement, and first responder agencies for the Federal Government. During this time, he served as Nextel’s Federal Coordinator during Presidentially-declared National Special Security Events including the G8 Summit, the Democratic and Republican National Conventions, the Presidential Inauguration and the State of the Union address.

Mr. Corry was chief operating officer for Able Telecom, Inc. from 2001-2002 where he directed all facets of the development of the company which expanded throughout the Southwest, Midwest and Southeast regions of the U.S. He also served as the director of Carrier Relations and director of Special Projects for the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association (CTIA) where he managed the business requirements and developed CTIA programs to serve the needs of more than 90 small and rural market carrier members.

He is the recipient of numerous U.S. government awards and commendations and earned a BA in Chemistry and Secondary Education form Hanover College.
