Robert Emmett Maskell

Bob Maskell graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science in Ocean Engineering and from the Naval Postgraduate School in 1979 with a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering. He served 20 years on active duty as a Navy Surface Warfare Officer, retiring in 1993 as a Commander. He commanded the USS CONOLLY during Operation Desert Storm and served in a variety of Military Satellite Communications staff assignmenrs ashore.

Following retirement, Bob started R.E.M. Tech, an information technology consulting service firm located in Leesburg, Virginia. In 1997, he established the Information Technology Division of Rocking RK Ranch, Inc. to continue the consulting services provided by R.E.M. Tech. From 1996 to 2001, those services included serving as the Project Manager for the Navy Interim Polar EHF Project. In May 2001, Mr. Maskell joined Spectrum Astro, Inc. of Gilbert, Arizona as Program Manager, Military Satellite Communications Programs. In that position, he managed the Spectrum Astro team working on the U.S. Government Transformational Communications Architecture. He joined Cisco Systems, Inc. in August, 2003 as a Space Systems Architect and is responsible for development of network architectures that merge space and ground systems seamlessly.

Bob lives in Maricopa, Arizona with his wife, Kathy, where they raise American Paint Horses. They are co-owners of Rocking RK Performance Horses. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE); the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA); the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA); the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA); the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE); the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA); the American Paint Horse Association (APHA); and the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA). He is the President of the Arizona Paint Horse Club.
